Hallmark Fans Will Fall In Love With These Baby Name Ideas

Add Mom on Google:

The Hallmark Channel practically invented comfort TV, with its charming romance, cozy mysteries, and magical Christmas movies. It goes perfectly with resting on the couch while you're expecting — and trying to find a baby name. Thankfully, Hallmark is full of inspiration, from leading characters to holiday associations and even some of the fictional towns where the action takes place.

As a huge Hallmark fan myself, I've searched through some of the most popular Hallmark Channel series and movies to find ideas for baby girls and baby boys. Some are obviously Hallmark-inspired (and there's nothing wrong with that!), while others have more subtle ties to this endearing channel. All of them are cute for your little one!

And once your baby is born, you can introduce him or her to the inspiration behind their name. After all, Hallmark movies and TV series are like a warm hug through your screen — so what better time to watch them than when snuggling with your baby?

Gentry

Perfect for a southern belle, Gentry is a gorgeous baby girl name that means "nobility of birth or character." You won't find it on any current popular baby name list, but you will hear it on Hallmark's "A Grand Ole Opry Christmas." Set in Nashville, this movie is about Gentry Wade, the daughter of a famous country music singer who gets to see her dad once again with the help of holiday magic.

Leland

Future leaders can't go wrong with Leland, a vintage name from "When Calls the Heart," based on the Mayor of Hope Valley. Leland means "meadow land" or "fallow ground" and was most popular in 1921. If you like an old-fashioned baby boy name with a hidden nature meaning — and a Hallmark tie, of course — this one is perfect!

Haven

Want a baby name full of magic? Go with Haven, after Port Haven, the small town that serves as the backdrop for "The Way Home." This is a heartwarming Hallmark Channel series about three generations of tough, hard-working women, with family drama, mysteries, and time travel thrown in. Haven, a name of British origin, is so pretty and means "harbor" or "safe place."

Garland

"Christmas Under Wraps" is a classic Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, where a doctor is transferred to the small town of Garland, Alaska. And if you've never considered it before, Garland would make for a cute and special name for a little boy. Garland means "wreath" or "land of the spear," which is both holiday-themed and totally tough for your baby.

Gethsemane

One of the most unique Hallmark Channel-inspired names is Gethsemane, the music teacher with a ghostly best friend who loves solving mysteries in the "Haunted Harmony Mysteries" series. Gethsemane means "oil press," and it is famously the name of the garden where Jesus prayed with his disciples before his death in the Bible. Giving your baby this name will definitely make for a conversation starter!

Leopold/Leo

Leo is one of the most popular baby names, ranking No. 19 on the U.S. Social Security Administration's top baby name list of 2025. But if you want to Hallmark-ify this name for your baby boy, give him the full name Leopold instead, after the charming heir of Cordinia, Prince Leopold, from "A Royal Christmas." You can still call him Leo, but his full name will remind you of this beloved movie.

Holly

Holly is such a cute baby girl name that represents Christmastime, as it's the name of the holly tree with its bright red berries and green leaves. It's also prominent in Hallmark Channel movies. For example, it's the name of the main character, a talented glassblower, in "Melt My Heart This Christmas." There are many Hallmark movies with Holly in the title, including "Holly & Ivy" and "Haul Out the Holly." This lovely name will make you smile year-round.
